This painting captures the pleasure of a walk I had on an rainy day down by the seashore

along San Francisco's main beach. It was overcast, but bright, which is when subtle colors can

look really rich, and combined together can express a collage of color that isn't seen in nature

that often. I even noticed some lightning from time to time out along the horizon and then I

stumbled across an abandoned crab shell that seemed to almost glow in that beautiful light.​
